Our Mission
To provide quality services that educate, encourage, empower and support healthy, happy community members and a safe, stable, supportive community.
About Us
Dorothy J. Collier founded Friends Inc. in the late 1980s as Friends to the Elderly after working for several community groups to fill the gaps in services experienced by the community's elderly residents. Mrs. Collier led the organization as the Executive Director until her passing in 2010.
As a testament to Mrs. Collier's work and contributions to the Western New York community, the city of Buffalo renamed the former PAL the Dorothy J. Collier Community Center (DJCCC) in her honor. Friends Inc. still serves the community at this location today!
